Problem updating avg antivirus
Disclosure: Please be aware that while we do attempt to test programs with the latest version of virus and malware software, we would to point out that Garmin Express was tested with avast Antivirus 18.3, AVG Antivirus 18.3, Bit Defender 7.2, Dr.Web 7, Emsisoft 4, Kaspersky 15, Malwarebytes 2.1, Mc Afee 6, Microsoft Security Essentials 1.1, Panda 4.6, Sophos 4.98, SUPERANTISPYWARE 5.6, Norton 1.5, Trend Micro 9.862, Webroot Secure Anywhere 8 and Zone Alarm Antivirus 10.2. These tests apply to Garmin Express 6.3.0 which is the latest version last time we checked.We last tested the this file on Apr 6, 2018 with 26 different anti-virus and anti-malware programs and services.Out of these tests, the Garmin Express download tested clean 100% of the time.We quickly informed all users not to reboot, but most had done so already, or ignored our advisory.

Our enterprise uses Avira's Business Bundle extensively. Upon arriving at work this morning, users were greeted with an Avira update prompting them to restart their machines. Unfortunately, upon reboot, most users could not log in, as Pro-Activ was blocking the login process.
We have 100 centrally managed users at this site alone, and a dozen users we support on the road. Some users managed to log in, but they could not open Outlook, Excel, or any other apps, due to them being blocked by Pro-Activ.
The result is that the Anti Vir Pro Activ component starts detecting critical processes as malware, including the following: The update is also blocking other Microsoft software (such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Works) as well as various third-party applications, including Byki 4 Express, Documents To Go, Garmin, Google Talk, i Pod and Palm services, Opera, Open DNS Updater, Polipo, Shadow, Stickies, and many others.
In other words, almost every executable file is being falsely detected by this update.
